Chris Babin, founder of CBI Performance, was born on October 24, 1969, and is a lifelong resident of Gonzales, Louisiana. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree, reflecting his strong academic background.
Chris's passion for motocross began early—he raced competitively from 1978 to 1988. During that time, he developed valuable mechanical skills working alongside his father. In 2014, he returned to the sport when his son, Aidan, began racing, reigniting his involvement in the motocross community.
CBI Performance was founded in 2017, born out of Chris’s desire to support friends with their mechanical and suspension needs. Since then, CBI has grown steadily, and Chris remains dedicated to helping riders perform at their best—from the starting gate to the checkered flag.
Tony DeReu owns and operators DeReu Moto Services, LLC. Tony graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida, in 2010. From 2011 to 2015, he worked at Reiman’s Harley-Davidson in Kewanee, IL, where he gained hands-on experience and developed a strong foundation in motorcycle service and repair.
In 2015, he transitioned into the automotive industry as a technician at Crowe Ford in Geneseo, IL. Over the next seven years, he has earned Senior Master Certification in both diesel and gasoline engines, further sharpening my technical expertise and diagnostic capabilities.
In 2022, his family launched DeReu Moto Services, LLC, combining his passion for motorcycles with years of mechanical experience. Their shop currently specializes in dirt bike and Harley-Davidson engine and suspension work. Tony is committed to continuously refining my skills to deliver high-quality, dependable service for every customer.
Mason Malcom has been a fixture in the Iowa and Nebraska racing scene for many years. Through years of riding, racing, and working with local riders, he’s developed a deep understanding of the unique soil types and track conditions across both MX and XC racing in the region.

Broc Gourley owns of N-Control Motorsports LLC, which was founded in 2021 with a focus on suspension and chassis development.
Broc's passion for suspension work began as a teenager in Minnesota, where he had the opportunity to test with Powerband while competing as an amateur rider. Witnessing the process behind building high-performance suspension systems sparked a deep interest that has grown into a career. Since then, he has attended several advanced suspension training programs, including the Powerband Academy in 2023.
On the racing side, one of his proudest moments was winning a championship at Loretta Lynn’s in 2010. Broc also raced on the East Coast Supercross circuit for a number of years. These experiences have given him valuable insight into what riders need from their equipment across different disciplines.
Jason Vaith is no stranger to the Midwest moto scene. As Minnesota’s premier trackside vendor at D23 motocross events, he has built a strong reputation through dedication to riders and performance.
Through Vaith Cycle, Jason has expanded beyond aftermarket parts into a full dealership for GasGas and Husqvarna Motorcycles, including eMTBs.
Now, as a WP Authorized Center, Vaith Cycle has direct access to WP Pro Components and parts—allowing them not only to support local riders, but also supply suspension tuners across the country.

Devin Manis is the lead suspension tech for TAGMX, offering customized suspension for both MX and XC markets. I met Devin back in 2024 at are WP Suspension event and in early 2025 joined our Strategic Service Center group.

Tactical Works Racing is owned and operated by Shane LeForge, a distinguished veteran who has served a 20+ year career in the United States Army with over 9 years in Special Operations. Throughout his military career, Shane demonstrated exceptional technical and tactical proficiency, leading over 150 Tactical Ground Movements during combat operations. His attention to detail—honed through years of high-stakes missions where precision meant the difference between success and failure—positions him as an ideal candidate for precision suspension tuning.
Shane's passion for motocross began in 1994, and by the end of 2003, he had advanced to the professional ranks, competing in the AMA Arenacross Series. Even while serving in the military, he remained a formidable competitor, securing multiple state championships across Ohio, Colorado, Georgia, and Kentucky. This unique combination of elite military training and professional racing experience gives Shane an unparalleled understanding of what it takes to perform under pressure—whether on the battlefield or in the workshop.Â
Tyler's career in the motocross industry began as a professional mechanic for Freddie Noren, where he gained valuable experience at the highest level of competition. Later played a key role in expanding Powerband Racing’s presence by launching a suspension satellite location at Club MX in Chesterfield, South Carolina, to better support riders along the East Coast.
From 2019 to 2021, worked at Powerband’s original Minnesota location before relocating with the company to Tavares, Florida. Throughout his career, he had the privilege of working with a number of elite riders, most recently including Chad and Tate Reed. Today, as the owner of Powerband Racing Florida, Tyler remains committed to providing top-tier suspension services to riders across all levels.
With a lifelong passion for motocross and off-road racing, David has been involved in the sport since the age of 4. Introduced to racing by his father—who competed in off-road events during the mid-70s in Arkansas—he got his start on a Yamaha 60 and never looked back.
Throughout his racing career, David had the opportunity to compete in events across the country, including the Florida Winter Ams, Loretta Lynn Regionals, and the World Vet Championship at Glen Helen. Some career highlights include a win as part of a Sportsman team in the legendary Baja 1000, as well as two second-place finishes in the +30 Pro and 450cc Pro classes in subsequent years. In 2008, David captured the Southeast Loretta Lynn Regional title in the Over 30 class at Muddy Creek and later placed 4th in the +25 A class at the World Vet Championship.
